以出生人數減去死亡人數計算，
2013年年中至2014年年中的人口自然增長為13 300人。
在同期內，香港居民淨遷移人數（即移入減移出）為淨移入34 000人。
出生及單程證持有人的移入均是整體人口增長的重要元素。
2013年年中至2014年年中的出生人數為58 700人，
而單程證持有人的移入為43 500人。

在同期內，死亡（45 400人）抵銷部分增長。
若撇除單程證持有人入境的數目，淨移出人口有9 600人。
